Aquamorph : Where Motion Takes Wings | Wood | 60 x 48 inches
The aquaMORPH series explores how movement can be translated into form. It begins with observing nature — the way wind shifts, the way birds flock together, and how motion leaves a trace in space. These invisible patterns are reshaped through parametric design into layered surfaces that feel continuous and dynamic, yet remain still.
In this piece, the form expands into an elliptical field. The surface flows gently across the plane, guiding the eye from one edge to the other. It carries a sense of quiet momentum — like looking at the sky just before a flock begins to rise. Bird inlays appear gradually across this landscape. Sparse in one area and gathering toward another, they suggest migration without directly illustrating it. Their placement creates direction within the composition — a shift from calm dispersion to collective lift. The brass-finished bird silhouettes introduce reflection into the wall art as viewers move across. As light moves falls on the curved surfaces, the metallic forms catch and respond to it, adding depth and subtle movement. This reflective quality brings a quiet sense of luxury without overpowering the natural warmth of the wood.
The contrast between layered birchwood and gloss finished brass creates a strong yet balanced juxtaposition. One material absorbs light; the other reflects it. One feels earthy and grounded; the other precise and luminous. Together, they form a unified composition — a wall artwork where nature and material refinement coexist, and where motion, light, and surface come together as one.
