Description
Hiranyamatsya | Woven Brass Mesh & Glass Bowls | 10 inches (6 forms in 5 glass bowls)
Hiranya–Matsya is a sculptural meditation on origins, where ancient mythology converges with the scientific narrative of evolution. Rooted in the Hindu myth of Matsya-avatar, the first avatar of Vishnu, who appears as a fish to preserve life during the great flood, the work reflects on protection, continuity, and rebirth.
Composed of five distinct fish, each hand-crocheted in brass wire and housed within transparent spherical glass enclosures, the installation explores life as both a contained and continuously unfolding phenomenon.
