Description

Barun Pramanick | Power of Nation | Bronze | H 11 x W x 17 x D inches | 2023

This bronze sculpture titled Power of Nation (2023) by Barun Pramanick, measuring 11 x 17 inches, is a thought-provoking work that blends symbolism with a sense of authority and reflection. The piece presents a finely detailed rocking chair, its surface padded and textured to resemble leather, placed atop a round pedestal covered in vibrant red fabric, symbolizing power, prestige, and sacrifice. Resting on the chair is a polished bronze lotus, an emblem of purity, resilience, and national identity. The juxtaposition of the comfortable, authoritative chair with the sacred lotus creates a dialogue between governance, tradition, and moral grounding, suggesting that true power lies not in dominance but in balance, wisdom, and rooted cultural values.
