Style:
Mitra’s paintings are so conspicuously striking from his contemporaries is his very detailed style and the hypnotic gaze of the protagonist alluring the viewer to enter into his paintings. In Mitra’s paintings the male body plays a vital role, but it is the portrayal of the body by implication rather than mere imitation, which makes these paintings so palpable. He always tries to make the body speck through its attitude & position. In his painting body plays the main expressive medium. Torso or simply the black , hand, arms, toes & intricasy of veins are his modes through which he tries to generate the burning sensations & our innate paycheys under pressure.

As his paintings have a strong content , he gives equal preferences to his content & pictorial /visual aspects for he belives unless & untill the various ingredient that have gone into the making of the images are perfect the theme cannot be succeed. In his paintings the varied illusions of the imagery takes the onlooker into the more fine aspects & content or the theme of the painting.
